Your taste profile

The places you actually visited

Not every pin on a trip gets visited. Plans change, weather shifts, you get tired. WayCrumb only learns from the places you marked as visited or that the location log confirmed, so unvisited pins never distort your profile.

Your wrap-up feedback

At the end of each trip, you rate the highlights and flag the misses. That signal, like "loved the tiny natural wine bars, skipped every museum," is worth more than any generic profile quiz.

Category patterns across trips

Over multiple trips, WayCrumb builds a picture of your taste: independent bookshops, third-wave coffee, viewpoints at golden hour, modernist architecture. And just as importantly, what you skip, like theme parks and mega-clubs.

Destination-aware weighting

Your preferences travel with context. Loving natural wine bars in Lisbon makes them a stronger suggestion in Barcelona than in Tokyo, where you'll get recommendations tuned to your other patterns instead.

How the loop works

  1. 1

    Travel and check off pins

While you're on the trip, mark places as visited from the itinerary, or let the location log confirm them automatically.

  2. 2

Fill in the wrap-up when you get home

The trip wrap-up asks a few quick questions: your three favorite pins, the ones that fell flat, and a short note on what you'd change.

  3. 3

    Next trip, better recommendations

When you start planning your next trip, the "For you" suggestions are ranked using everything you visited and rated on past trips.

  4. 4

    Keep refining, forever

Each finished trip sharpens your profile. There's no fixed onboarding. Your travel history is the profile.

Recommendations that actually feel like you

Generic travel apps recommend the same top 10 to everyone. WayCrumb’s “For you” suggestions on every new trip are ranked against the pins you loved on past trips. No cold-start quiz, no manual preference toggling.

  • No preference forms to fill in
  • Recent trips count more, so your profile evolves as your taste does
  • Private. Your history is never shared with other travelers
  • Editable. Adjust or remove any wrap-up at any time

Frequently asked questions

How does WayCrumb personalize travel recommendations?

WayCrumb learns from the places you actually visited on past trips and the feedback you leave in each trip wrap-up. There's no quiz or preference form. After two or three finished trips, your "For you" suggestions are ranked around your real taste, and recent trips count more as your preferences evolve.

What counts as a "visited" place?

A pin you check off in the itinerary, a pin the location log confirmed you stopped at, or a pin you rated in the trip wrap-up. Pins you saved but never visited don't affect your recommendations.

Does WayCrumb share my travel history with other users?

No. Your travel history and wrap-up feedback are private and used only to tailor your own recommendations. Aggregate patterns, like popular pins in a city, come only from collections and pins users have explicitly shared.

How many trips before recommendations feel personal?

You'll notice meaningful personalization after two or three finished trips with wrap-ups. A single trip already nudges your categories, and by the third trip the suggestions lean confidently on your preferences.

Can I edit or delete a wrap-up?

Yes. Every wrap-up is editable from the trip page, and deleting a wrap-up (or the trip itself) removes its contribution to your recommendation profile.

What if my taste changes over time?

Recent trips count more than older ones, so a shift, whether from party bars to quiet cafés or from budget to premium, shows up in your recommendations within a couple of new trips. No manual reset needed.
